Maxwell Remodel
A proposed remodel of the Maxwell anthropology museum at the University of New Mexico. Exhibit casework, preservation, and noninvasive signage were given special attention. A large breezeway and clerestory layer eliminated the natural claustrophobia of small spaces.
Our team was notable in developing the courtyard as a secondary entry and public event space. A wall of swivel doors expands the temporary exhibit room to include the courtyard and allow for a larger range of uses; it was the hope that this more versatile design would entice UNM to fund the project.
