Cleary

This is a plan set of a typical building during my time at Cleary Building Corp, it is one of over 350 drawn to date at about $20 million in total production costs across the northern half of the continental US.

After a set is finished, production drafters add material layouts (such as nail amount) and send it to the construction team. Though some elements change, like porches, open walls, and second stories, Cleary’s post-truss-steel construction remains largely the same.

On a personal level, many of my past designs were criticized for not being realistically constructed, so this felt like a plunge into that realism. Good timing, since these are the same types of buildings my relatives in Iowa were clamoring for after the 2020 derecho and had skyrocketed to such high demand that our team literally could not draw fast enough.
